Re.: Jim and Cheryl Berger, T/A Berger’s Baby Birds
To Whom It May Concern:
I have known Jim and Cheryl Berger as my clients since 1993. They consulted
with me on the construction of their current facility and on the breeding and
husbandry of their avian stock. In the past 14 years, they have presented me
with over 100 patients and consulted with me on many more birds of their own
and from other breeders.
Among the hundreds of bird owners and breeders that I see yearly in my practice,
the Bergers are among the top 1% in their knowledge of avian husbandry. They
are conscientious bird breeders and owners, whose love and concern for birds
outweigh their financial concerns.
For over 10 years, I have been certified by the American Board of Veterinary
Practitioners as a specialist in avian practice and served for five years as
chair of its exam committee. I am also past president of the Association of
Avian Veterinarians and the Maryland Veterinary Medical Association.
My current avian caseload is approximately 80% of my practice, drawing patients
from all of Maryland, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Washington D.C., and Virginia.
I see all manner of avian species; from passerines and pscittacines to waterfowl
and raptors. I do pro bono work for the Maryland Department of Natural Resources,
U.S. Fisheries and Wildlife, U.S. Patuxent Wildlife Research Center, the Carrie
Murray Center in Baltimore, and the Wildlife Rescue League of Maryland, among
others.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Sincerely,

Donald
